Chiang Rai 8th

Went to the hot spring today. The whole group was so excited. Bikini on and towel rolled up, I was craving warm, soothing water and excercise. Oh No...we arrived and were greatly disappointed. The hot spring consisted of three parts: A very hot pool for no apparent reason, the actual hot spring which smelt of eggs and the swimming pool that you were allowed in, smelt of egg and had suspicious black things floating in the water. I would have love to have said i was tempted to get in but i really really wasn.t and neither was claire or kelly who sat with me at the side to watch. I figure we'd made the right decision when Holly and Brandon came out in rashes later that day. At night we retuirned to the night market for some cheap food and the bug challenge...yes that is right i ate insects. On the menu were silkworms, house crickets, water crickets and grubs. They didn't taste of much but the texture was enough to make any stomach turn. I mean Ruth gor a cricket wing stuck in her teeth for crying out loud..mmmm sexy!
